DOROTHY M. FOUNTAIN SCOTIA—Dorothy M. Fountain, 96, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 25, 2022, at Baptist Health, Scotia, NY. Dorothy was born in Albany, the daughter of the late Edward and Adeline (Wright) Humler, and was a lifelong resident of Scotia. In 1946 she wed Robert C. (Bob) Fountain and enjoyed 44 years of marriage until Bob’s passing in 1990. She was predeceased by her sister Kathryn “Ann” Crowningshield. A devoted mother, Dorothy leaves behind her daughter, Denise M. Fountain, and her wife, Judith A. Wallace, of Medford, MA; son Gary Fountain and his wife, Melissa (Evans), of Hamden, CT; granddaughter, Christina R. Fountain Loeffler, her husband, Zachary Loeffler, and their son and Dorothy’s great-grandson, Jack B. Loeffler, of Chicago, IL; her devoted niece Judith (Crowningshield) Sepkowski and her husband William Sepkowski of Schenectady, NY; their daughter Stephanie A. Zebrowski; and a niece Barbara (Crowningshield) Zulkoski. Educated in the secretarial sciences, Dorothy worked briefly at Ellis Hospital until marrying Bob. Dorothy loved the outdoors and was active throughout most of her life. She enjoyed cross-country skiing in the winter and summers in Wells, NY, at a camp that she and Bob had built with her parents. A service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Friday, July 29, at the White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia, NY. Visitation will precede the service at 11:30 a.m., and a burial ceremony will take place immediately following the service at Memory Gardens in Colonie, NY.
