Kathleen Katras Nucci

Loudonville- Kathleen Katras Nucci, 89, passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at her home. Born in Albany, she was the daughter of the late William and Pauline Katras. She was raised and educated in Albany and a graduate of Albany High School, class of 1950. She attended classes at Schenectady County Community College. Kathleen was employed with NYS Department of Taxation and Finance as a supervisor for 37 years until her retirement in 1988. She was a member of St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church in Albany and was a former board and current member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society. She was also past president of NYS Tax Alumni Retirees Club, president of Capital City 600 Bowling club, member of NYS 600 Bowling club, member of USBC Bowling Association of Albany, member of Tee’d Off Ladies Golf League, member of the Colonie Elks Auxiliary, member of the Albany High School Union Committee, former member of the NRA, Watervliet Fish & Game club and Mayfair Field Archers. An all sports enthusiast, she was a lifelong athlete, enjoying golf, softball, basketball, bowling, field archery, bow hunting, ice-skating and much more. She was a die-hard Boston Red Sox fan since 11 years of age. In addition to her parents, Kathleen was predeceased by her brother Lewis A. Katras. Survivors include her nieces, Pamela (Edward) Ramirez of San Antonio, TX, Denise (Edward) Conroy of Voorheesville and Lisa (William) Clark of Rensselaer; her nephew, William Katras of Rensselaer, several great and great-great nieces and nephews, several cousins including those in Greece, and close in-laws, Gerace, Ferro, Schilling and Nucci families. Services will take place Tuesday May 25th 11am at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, Albany. The family will receive relatives and friends Tuesday 10am-11am prior to the service at church. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens, Colonie. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.
