Marc "Hayo" Hayostek

January 27, 1977 - November 30, 2021

Clifton Park- Marc J. Hayostek “Hayo”, 44 of Clifton Park passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady on January 27, 1977, he was the son of Michael Hayostek and the late Priscilla (Stringham) Hayostek. Marc was a lifelong resident of the area and attended local schools; graduating from Scotia-Glenville High School, Class of 1995. Marc worked for many distributors over the years including, DeCresente, Bartizel and most recently, Mission. He was an owner/operator for Freihofer from 2008 until this past August. Marc was a sports fan, especially football and was an avid golfer. He was a dedicated fan of the New England Patriots and the Cleveland Indians. Marc was known for his sarcasm, humor and being a jokester. However, he was widely known for his heart of gold, willingness to help others, being a loving son and brother, and an amazing uncle to his niece and nephew who he loved like his own. In addition to his mother, Marc was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Jacob and Agnes Hayostek and maternal grandfather, Donald Stringham. He is survived by his father, Michael Hayostek; sister, Lisa Hayostek; beloved niece and nephew, Taylor Laustrup and Jacob Laustrup and his maternal grandmother, Phyllis Stringham. Marc is also survived by a host of lifelong friends, aunts, uncles and cousins. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, December 13, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Light’s Funeral Home, 1428 State Street, Schenectady. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will immediately follow at Park View Cemetery, Fehr Avenue, Schenectady.
