Sharon D. Trumpler Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Scotia- Sharon D. Trumpler, 71, passed away peacefully at home on April 7, 2022 surrounded by her family, after a brief illness. Sharon was born in Scotia, the eldest of 5 children, to Charles and Carmella Vedder. She was a 1969 graduate of Scotia Glenville High School where she met her high school sweetheart, Joseph. They wed in 1970 and while Joseph was in the U.S. Navy, they welcomed their son Joseph (Joey). After Joseph’s discharge from the Navy, they moved back to Scotia where they welcomed their daughter, Jamie. Together they built a life they were proud of that left an indelible impression on their children. They loved their home and their yard which was also appreciated by the neighbors in the Village; especially when it meant free vegetables for all. They spent their summers camping in Long Lake where they would spend hours on their boat or around the campfire. You could also find Sharon crocheting numerous hats and blankets for loved ones and for those in need, donating so many handcrafted items to students in the Schenectady City School District and to Things of my Very Own. Sharon worked at Adirondack Beverage and at the age of 34 she went to beauty school to become a hairdresser. She began working at First Impressions in Scotia before opening Mane Street Hair Studio on Mohawk Avenue in 1990. Sharon retired from hairdressing in 2018. Sharon was devoted to her husband of 50 years, who predeceased her ever so suddenly in December 2020. She was never the same after losing her love and we find peace and comfort knowing Sharon and Joseph have been reunited. Sharon was also predeceased by her sister Toni Ann (Jack), her sister-in-law Jeanne, as well as her parents. She is survived by her adoring son Joey (Jonai); loving daughter Jamie; and grandchildren Emily, Joslyn and Jaiden. She is also survived by her sister Ladon (Douglas), brothers Charles (Suzanne) and Michael (Lori) as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends who have been a part of the family for decades. The family will receive relatives and friends Friday from 11am to 1pm, followed by a Memorial Service at 1pm at The White Funeral Home, 264 N. Ballston Ave., Scotia. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Schenectady. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1 Penny Lane, Latham NY 12110.
