William Robert "Bob" Hazelton

June 10, 1931 - March 30, 2022

William Robert Hazelton (June 10, 1931-March 30, 2022) William Robert “Bob” Hazelton passed away on March 30, 2022 from natural causes. He is predeceased by his parents William T. Hazelton and Anna Hazelton. Bob leaves behind his devoted wife, Theresa Hazelton, and his three sons and daughter-in-laws, William T. and Susan Hazelton (Albany, NY), Robert J. and Cynthia Hazelton (Mineola, NY), and Richard P. and Colleen Hazelton (Lakeville, CT). He was the loving grandfather to Natalie, Kevin, Anna, Robert Joseph (RJ), Sarah, Harry, Grace, and Charlotte, as well Billy, who predeceased him. Bob also leaves behind his sister, Jane Easa of Hempstead, NY, having been predeceased by his sister, Marianne Gorman. Bob grew up in Baldwin, New York and attended St. Christopher's School and La Salle Military Academy. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1953, Bob received his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business in 1954. He served as an officer in the Air Force, and was stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska and Anchorage, Alaska. After his military service, Bob joined Price Waterhouse in Pittsburgh before returning to New York to work for Coopers & Lybrand, and was named a partner in 1970. His areas of expertise included non-profit organizations and public utility companies. Bob retired in 1989 and during his retirement he enjoyed his neighborhood, generously opened his home to friends and family, and made a point of supporting local businesses. The annual highlights in his life were taking his family to the Jack O'Lantern Resort in Woodstock, New Hampshire and attending fall football games in Hanover, New Hampshire. Theresa and Bob married on August 12, 1961 at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Springfield Gardens, NY, and raised their children in Hicksville, New York. He was a parishioner at St. Paul the Apostle (Brookville, NY) and St. Ignatius Loyola (Hicksville, NY). Over the years he served on various parish councils, coached CYO baseball, served as a Dartmouth alumni interviewer, and supported the efforts of Chaminade High School in Mineola, NY. He was a member of Wheatley Hill Golf Club in Old Westbury, NY. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Chaminade High School's Torch Fund or to Hunter's Hope. Graveside services will be private. A Memorial Service in celebration of Bob’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to Tebbutt Funeral Home, Albany, NY.
